Landlord and Tenant

Landlord and Tenant Law is a relatively complex area that is constantly changing. Landlords are required to deal with increasing statutory compliance whilst tenants are provided with greater rights and responsibilities.

Our Residential Conveyancing team provides advice on residential tenancy agreements to both landlords and tenants.  We have a wealth of expertise in providing proactive and cost effective advice covering all areas of residential letting and ultimately ensuring that many of the common pitfalls and subsequent disputes are avoided.

In many cases tenancy agreements are dealt with by way of an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement for a fixed term which ensures that there is no security of tenure for the tenant at the end of that term should the landlord wish to bring the tenancy to an end on the standard two months notice.

There are other forms of tenancy agreements that are sometimes appropriate instead and we therefore suggest that if you are intending to grant a tenancy agreement or enter into one as a tenant then you seek our advice prior to doing so.

We will advise you fully, prepare any documentation that you require or alternatively approve any documentation provided to you by any third party.
