Independent Financial Advice

Managing your money can sometimes be a headache and the huge choice of financial products that are now available can often be confusing. Whilst we do not offer independent financial advice in-house, we have arrangements with independent financial advisers who can help with the following:-

  • Investments
  • Mortgages
  • Pensions
  • Retirement planning
  • Equity release
  • Long term care
  • Life insurance

We can arrange for an independent financial adviser to either see you at our offices or alternatively visit you at home at your convenience. We do not make a charge for this service and would be only too pleased to arrange a suitable appointment for you.

The following are some typical examples of where financial services are frequently required over and above routine savings:-

Mortgage Advice

We recommend our clients to take independent financial advice when it comes to choosing a mortgage deal/lender.

We have established a link with a local firm of independent mortgage/finance brokers who offer our clients a choice of deals selected on a “whole of market” basis. This means they have access to every mortgage product currently available within the market place. They are able to choose from in excess of 30,000 mortgage deals, in order to find the most appropriate product for the client.

There are brokers who trade as being independent, but who only have access to a limited panel of lenders, typically about half a dozen. Clearly, a “whole of market” proposition is far superior.

Should you wish to arrange a meeting with one of their experienced mortgage advisers, then please do not hesitate to contact us.

Retirement

Various options arise at retirement, for example do you take an available lump sum? If you have a money purchase fund should you buy the annuity or take income drawdown? If pension planning is still in its early stages, do you need to pay higher contributions to achieve your target fund? Which pension do you choose? Do you need to pay into an AVC?

Care Planning

A Financial Adviser can assist in planning your finances so that you have the peace of mind of knowing that you will be adequately provided for in later years. Perhaps you are an attorney for an elderly friend or relative under an Lasting Power of Attorney? An Independent Financial Adviser can help you to arrange their finances to ensure that they are safely invested whist producing maximum income to assist with care fees.

Divorce

How will any divorce impact on your savings and pension arrangements? How do you get the best price for your endowment if this has to be surrendered?

The range and complexity of financial products available today mean that few people have the time and resources to keep abreast of all the options, or the expertise to choose between competing products. Independent financial advice can help you progress from where you are today to where you aim to be in the future.
